In the framework of enhancing cooperation with local communities and promoting community participation, EPA implemented an awareness campaign to prevent cholera in camps in the Qabasin area, focusing on the role of the local community in all its segments in achieving an effective response to limit the spread of cholera in the northern Syrian regions.

- EPA launched a cholera prevention awareness campaign in the camps of Qabasin sub-district, The awareness campaign included training and an awareness session that included:
- 1- Conducting an awareness session about cholera (its causes - symptoms - methods of prevention).
- 2- Training to conduct a free chlorine test in drinking water
- 3- Distributing pool testers to measure FRC to the leaders from the camps
- During the field visit:
- 1- Distributing chlorine tablets for household drinking water treatment
- 2- Raise awareness of the use of chlorine tablets
- 3- Distributing brochures on cholera and water sterilization methods
- Awareness and community education is an important step in reducing the spread of cholera in the northern regions of Syria
