On the morning of February 6, 2023, an earthquake occurred in northern Syria, forcing many residents to flee to temporary shelters that were not prepared to receive these displaced numbers. Organizations responded to this situation and covered all sectors such as health, food security, and WASH. This response demonstrated the integration between organizations to secure the basic needs of people, and the services provided were of high quality and arrived in a timely manner.

- In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Syria, a surge of people sought refuge at the established reception centers in NW Syria. Stepping in to support, EPA-Syria, played a pivotal role in providing a comprehensive package of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) services, including:
- 1-Daily monitoring and supply of clean, sterilized drinking water
- 2- Implementation of hygiene protocols through regular rubbish removal
- 3- Improvement of sanitation services via desludging
- 4- Conducting targeted awareness campaigns on waterborne diseases
- EPA's swift and integrated response has been instrumental in meeting the immediate needs of the affected population.
